Publicis Media France and WhatRocks Foundation pave the way for tomorrow’s Ad Tech for Good.

Paris, September the 10th, 2019 – Publicis Media France and WhatRocks Foundation enter a strategic partnership to develop, test and market a world premiere solution for socially responsible advertising that gives money to online users so they can make donations to the charities of their choice.

“As consumers challenge businesses on their positive contribution to society, the WhatRocks™ label enables advertisers to give purpose to their digital ad spending.” says Njara Zafimehy, Founder & President of WhatRocks Foundation.

Rocks™ : the cornerstone of a giving economy funded by ad spending

With WhatRocks™, advertisers tokenize a fraction of their advertising budgets to reward users financially with blockchain tokens called Rocks™ when they see or click on their WhatRocks™-labeled digital ads. This money is automatically paid to the users’ personal account on their WhatRocks™ mobile wallet where they can make donations to the charities of their choice. These non-profits fund their charitable activities by selling Rocks™ for cash to brands that need Rocks™ to reward users exposed to their own WhatRocks™-labeled ads. Account opening and transactions are free of charge* to keep donations untouched.

A partnership that involves the expertise of Publicis Media agencies in order to perfect all the stages of blockchain production and media implementation.

The Data science teams of Publicis Media will measure the efficiency of this solution by evaluating the uplift and performance of the social label to video and display ad campaigns and the benefits for brands in terms of brand equity and business impact.

With a view to launch of this solution onto the market, Publicis Media organizes an exclusive Proof of Concept (POC) with WhatRocks Foundation as early as Q3 2019. Nestlé and L’Oréal France (Zenith clients) are the first advertisers to activate the WhatRocks™ label and will participate in this POC by adding the WhatRocks™ label to their digital advertising campaigns.

Publicis Media has selected Verizon Media Group, Teads and FreeWheel as publishing partners that will launch the WhatRocks™-labeled advertising campaigns of Nestlé and L’Oréal during this POC.

Finally, Unicef France as well  as Epic and its portfolio of non-profits will also participate in the Proof of Concept to collect Rock™ donations from users.

About WhatRocks Foundation

The mission of non-profit organization WhatRocks Foundation is to empower users financially so they can donate to the charities of their choice thanks to WhatRocks™, the first social impact label for digital advertising.

With WhatRocks™, brands reward users financially with blockchain tokens called Rocks™ when they see or click on their WhatRocks™-labeled ads across the web. Users redeem their Rocks™ directly from their WhatRocks™ mobile wallet to make donations to their charities of choice or to buy tickets or promo codes to local events and parties. Event organizers then donate these Rocks™ to the charities of their own choice.

These charities fund their charitable activities by selling their Rocks™ for cash to brands that need Rocks™ to reward users exposed to their own WhatRocks™-labeled ads. In this circular giving economy, account opening and transactions are free of charge* to keep donations untouched.

WhatRocks™ is more than a label: it’s a global community of engaged individuals, brands and non-profits taking action together to fund social change.
